В то время как поток между I и P2 идет более сложным путем, как видно из того же рисунка. Эффект ориентации сетки состоит в том, что в случае каждого из "маршрутов" флюида получаются различные результаты. Эта проблема в основном возникает вследствие использования при моделировании потока пятиточечных схем в конечных разностях, five-point difference scheme (в двумерном случае). Эффекта ориентации сетки можно избежать, используя более сложные численные схемы, такие как девятиточечная, nine-point difference scheme (в двумерном случае).
